Welcome to Preseed Frontend Team. Following are few things you need to know about, learn about and play around to get started with us

• Preseed Web Page Design Protocol

1. Almost all our pages have a footer because Nishchal/ Coordinator always writes some material to build the idea on.
2. ‘Another brief note from our founder’
3. Ensure there is some kind of a photo gallery widget on all events of preseed put into the webpage / brand protocols.
4. Links should open in new tabs
5. The hyperlinks to Nishchals medium are opening as a new tab.
6. All the pages must be responsive on all types of devices
7. Members in team page will have full face front view (solo) image.
8. All web pages will have this as footer “Copyright © 2014 Preseed Ventures Pvt. Ltd. | All Rights Reserved” linked to preseed.in/legal
9. Navbars for Preseed Labs Only
10. All the rules about how are pages are done and incase the names are changes what all gets affected on the web.. Needs to be made into a checklist as deep as mention of changes even on Nishchal’s medium write ups … Basically after every change all related things must be thoroughly listed and checked
11. When an URL changes of a webpage changes, ensure old Url are destroyed.
12. Meet us on AngelList and Meet us on F6S buttons should be there at the bottom of home page. (Only products home page will have F6S button)
13. Preseed Logo will be there on all labs’ project’ webpage in the last section, above the line < a Preseed (Lab) Project>

These are rules all web pages in Preseed follow. Trust me you will need this.

• Producteev — make an account on www.trello.com and share your id with us. All the tasks will be assigned to you using producteev, so make sure you check it on daily basis.
  As you complete the tasks mark them done. Keep it updated
• Mailchimp — for subscriber box/button codes, you need to use mailchimp. Here is the mailchimp protocol.
• Github — make an account on github.com and share your id with us. Mostly all the pages related to Preseed are here.
• a. initially: when you dont have permission to commit changes-
  Download the zip file and make changes locally and pass on only and only edited files or image to your fellow team member

b. when you have permission to commit changes-

i) install git for windows / mac

ii) login with your git credentials

iii) make a new folder called github in your system

iv) click on ‘+’ icon to create new repo or clone repo(cloning repo means downloading

copy of that repo in your system). all the repo should be cloned in the same github

folder which you created in step ©

v) do the editings on the files which you need to inside github folder and save them

vi) git will detect all the changes inside repo, select the changes you want to commit on

live page and click on commit and then sync

volla! check your page in a minute to see your edits on live page!

Important: once changes are made should first upload at Demo.preseed.in , get it approved and then make changes on actual repo

• Twitter bootstrap- download source file from getbootstrap.com, go through file structure and documentation on the same site. you can also use tutorialspoint.com as reference
  Also layoutit.com can come handy to make frameworks
• All the pages should be responsive on all screens. use responsinator or browserstack or responsivetest. Chrome user can add this extension.
• On team page additions of pictures of team members facing the camera and not wearing sunglasses.
• On modal box on closing use words like nice, sounds good, super, etc. try to not repeat the word ok good too much
• It will be best that the web page teams undertake the making of the web pages whenever the startup team can’t”
• On 4consult team page, designation may or may not have xyx partner. But on Preseeed Team page — partner will not be used so designation will be xyz.
• All Preseed projects page must have Preseed logo at the bottom of the page
• There should be always back button to go to back page or home button to go to home page.
• Before making changes in any of the file sync the previous changes first and then start with the editing work. Don’t directly updated the things.

Github Help Demo

Note: Suppose you have been asked to make changes on the URL 4c.preseed.in/dealflow. Then you will find the code of its webpage in dealflow folder in 4C repo. So if there is a url abc.preseed.in/xyz — first you will look for abc repo and then xyz folder in it.

Domain Help

Following are the steps for creating new domain like “xxx.preseed.in”

• Make repository on github under Preseed as a project name.
• Create and Commit CNAME file with subdomain eg. xxx.preseed.in.
• Log into the https://www.godaddy.com/ .
• Click on Domain on the header.
• Click on manage my Domain.
• Right click on Domain name “Preseed.in” and select Manage DNS.
• Then go to Zone File.
• Click on Add Record.
• Then write the subdomain name on the place of Host, which is “xxx” in this case.
• In place of “points to”, write “preseed.github.io”.
• Then Save Changes and Done.

Nav Bar Protocol

1. Preseed Logo in left <linked with Preseed.in>
2. General Orders of name and social media icons
3. for labs page
4. Home
5. Labs Name like Web Lab, Entreperneur Lab , or whatever else. Ask if you dont know.

Order of Social Media Icons will be -

1. Medium
2. Blog
3. Facebook
4. Twitter

(Icons should be same all over the Preseed.)

1. for other pages, write for other pages separately
2. It must be responsive
3. Only labs page has Nav bars (or the product page)
4. Home button — should bring users back to the landing page ….

(this needs to be implemented across all labs page )

Team Page Protocol

• The difference between the notations of ‘advisor’ and ‘mentor’ used in our team page Anyone like Rahul S, Sai, Puneet (i.e. talented and available to guide our team is called a mentor) I will add 10s of such people into the team but advisors are men like bharat mittal, well achieved.
• Images of team members will be front facing, with no goggles
• For Web Lab Team — only three notation will be used — Hackers, Hustlers and Designers
